The channel holding times of active customers have an exponential distribution and the call generating times of non-active customers have an exponential distribution. In this paper, we present approximation formulae for the hand-off probability, blocking probability, and mean number of busy channels in a cell. The approximations are based on the light traffic limit for the stationary state distribution of the cell.  The proposed formulae are numerically examined and the results show that the formulae are very good for practical parameter settings.<br
