\nAbstract: Optimal stopping theory studies the problem of deciding when to take an action to maximise an expected reward under uncertainty. This talk provides an overview of such problems with an emphasis on the full information setting where the asymptotic behaviour is not so well studied \u2013 as well as the use of prophet inequalities to compare optimal performance. We then turn to a few variations where the number of observations is random, or when the number of available units at a given stage is also random. We analyse single and multiple stopping formulations in each of these variations.<\/p>\n
